Crikey! To be honest, I'm surprised he lived as long as he did.
Celebrities have been dropping like flies this past year.

Miku: No, he was killed by a Stingray. Related creatures, but not the same.

Man, that sucks. He was too awesome.

The sting-ray's barb went straight through his heart; a case of bad luck on where it hit him since apparantly stringray's use it as a defense reflex - and it's isn't usually deadly.
Terrible Shame. RIP

Wow... really is a shame. I figured something terrible would happen to him eventually -- constantly working with dangerous animals although I'm sure many precautions are taken for his films. Terrible news but thanks for reporting. I check gamemp3s feeds before the news!

Yeah, that's a true shame. I really liked him and his shows, and his love of animals and nature was wonderful. Damn, why does such things only happen to nice people!? He will be missed...

That's really sad, esp. for smeone who loves animals and nature with such a pure motive (Or at least it appeared as such on TV). The fact that he gave his life for what he enjoys doing, studying animals and making the public more aware of them, might inspire us all to look at nature with an added sense of appreciation.

His contributions to nature conservation were almost as impressive as the man he at least appeared to be on the surface (though I don't doubt that was the same man as he was off-camera). A bad ass, and a shame he had to die. From someone with zero respect for the TV world... I can honestly say he was a man I really liked and enjoyed watching.

I was really sorry to hear that... He was great and we (my husband and I) loved watching his TV shows.
Let that be a lesson to us all. Don't play with stingrays/ nature.
