Happy New Year!

We've been gone for a little while, time to play some catch up:

Before Crisis -Final Fantasy VII- & Last Order -Final Fantasy VII- Original Soundtrack
Rockman 1~6 20th Anniversary Techno Arrange Ver.
Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer Original Video Game Soundtrack
Two Worlds - The Album

Lots of stuff we've missed, but it has been a busy time of year, I hope we can keep up! I'm assuming everyone is familiar with the first two albums, so I won't say anything about those, only that Shinji Hosoe is the arranger for the Rockman Techno album.

"Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer" is horizontal shooter, published by eastasiasoft. This one is supposedly coming to PSN and is on PC now, some great music here. "Two Worlds" is the Polish-developed RPG for the PC, 360 and soon to be PS3.

Will there be direct downloading available for releases or is that canceled?

kari, That will no longer be available as I previously mentioned. It's unfortuante, but the powers that be will not allow it anymore.

Am I reading that right? Harold Faltermeyer?
The Rockman soundtrack is underwhelming, but the Soldner-X OST is amazing!

I remember seeing a Last Order cover on Square Enix's website somewhere. But it could just be my imagination. Do you provide full scans by request if possible?

comment posted by Win on 02 January

Win, No scans for that one sorry. If I don't make the scans available when the album is released, it means the ripper did not want to provide them. That's solely up to them.

Thanks a bunch. The Rockman Techno Arrange is far better than the Rock Arrange. I'm not too interested in the FFVII ones. I'll give it a listen but I look more forward to trying out the other two.

That's a good release, but man, that Rockman Techno CD just reaffirms for me why I hate techno. They should have just done a second Rock volume...it was much better than this ear-bleeding mess.

Personally, I liked the Rockman Rock Arranged album better than the Techno one. It's not horrible, but I just liked the Rock version better, especially in regards to Dr. Wily Level 1 (Rockman 2).

I think it goes without saying that you have to be into "techno" to really enjoy the Techno Arrange Ver. I'm placing techno in brackets because the tracks on this CD are far from techno, they fall into the category of trance, hardtrance with overall, high beats per minute. Apparently, the Japanese regard all forms of electronica as "techno", much like Americans do.

The Japanese are several years behind the western producers when it comes to electronica, trance especially. I'm not talking about quality of productions, I'm talking about the type of electronica they are producing. The type of productions on this CD would have been released in Europe in 2001, 2002, when this type of electronica was still popular.

The production values aren't quite up to par with Koshiro's trancy work, but I still found it above average. The Dr. Wily 1 Mix stands out for me, excellent production. BPM is a little too high for my taste but that's a problem a lot of the tracks on this album have, imo.

Anyway, awesome release Godai. Really appreciate your hard work on the albums, man. And also, big thanks to the rippers.

Just one question. Where does the 'Two Worlds' Soundtrack came from? I haven't been able to find it on Music Stores

comment posted by Azevrec on 04 January

Great release but I hear lots of clicks 'n ticks in '04 Ashos' of the Two Worlds album between at least 10-11secs. There's more clicks in that track. Not sure about the rest of them, gotta listen through it again, but you guys might want to QC the album again and redo some tracks :)

'Two Worlds' are great! I never really liked Faltermeyer but with this score he showed that actually he can write music:). Very good, variable and surprising music:). But the game looks awful, and I don't care it's Polish - I'm not a big patriot;). Thanks for this score Godai!

Thanks Askwind:).

As per the suggestion of the IRC folks, I switched to uTorrent and the torrent worked just fine. Must have been my client.

Hi there, and can I just say thx to all the hard work that goes on from all you guyz'n'galz here!

The releases you come up with are of fantastic quality and such a varied mixture of new and retro-memories for me and other music/gaming fans.

Well that aside :), I have had problems with the torrent too... It seems the blank files a torrent generates are not being generated hence I get the "File not found" message. Was this the same for anyone else??

I use ABC Client and always have for the past 5yrs here and everywhere else in the I-World, so this release is a mystery why it won't work.

A rapidshare would be great if anyone can provide it! Thx I/A and good luck for the New Year everybody! :)

So there goes my review (oh I was shocked to see site break when posted my comment).

Before Crisis & Last Order. This one is follows on Crisis Core OST in the quality and musicality of the tracks. Some familiar themes and also something new -- three versions of "Theme Of Elfe" by WAKAKO which you absolutely have to hear! Singing, music and the contrast between those versions are awesome and surprising! 4.5 / 5.

Rockman 1~6 20th Anniversary Techno Arrange Ver. I guess this release is interesting only for fans of the Rockman series, since the sound is ugly and non-pleasant to the ears. Actually I find the original tunes (which are included) to a lot better that the "techno" remake. 2.5 / 5.

Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer Original Video Game Soundtrack. This album has some good sounding beats, and the demoscene feel, I'd say, if you know what I mean. This music is as good as a soundtrack for the game and for casual listening. 4.0 / 5.

Two Worlds - The Album. Now this was the most surprising. I figured from the cover of the album that the game is some RPG, and thought, "Oh, it's another heroic ambient pack of tracks". But when I was listening, I could believe to what I was hearing! Pure 'symphonic' metal! There are very good tunes included! 4.5 / 5.

Well, this is entirely too late, but the SQUARE ENIX e-STORE page for the BC-FFVII- & LO-FFVII- OST has a couple decent-sized images of each "album's" cover.

Use those for each section, if you so wish.
