And So Have I

Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon ~Labyrinth of Forgotten Time~ Original Soundtrack
Devil May Cry 4 Special Soundtrack
Forest of glass / Motoi Sakuraba

Yesterday's release has been taken down because of encoding issues with "No More Heroes". I'm currently reripping it in hopes I can get a clean encode, should have it up again soon, my apologies.

The new "Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon" game is from the Nintendo Wii and features mostly arranges of classic FF tunes done by Yuzo Takahashi at JOE DOWN. Great stuff! Also has the theme some by Ai Kawashima and two new tracks by Kumi Tanioka.

The "Devil May Cry 4" album is from last month, but hey, the demo just came out!

Finally, another solo album from Motoi Sakuraba. This one is all piano and features a few arrangements from his awesome "Gikyokuonsou" album. Check it out Motoi fans!

Forest of Glass, you say? Solo Sakuraba piano album? Jolly good!! This looks both enticing and promising, and most likely I would not have found this otherwise. Thanks much.

Thanks for this quality upload! Forest of Glass is amazing. I'm not a big fan of Chocobo Dungeon, and have yet to listen to the DMC4 Special Soundtrack. All your hard work is appreciated!

I don't know what I would do without this site!

Because there's the RSS feed, I check out every release, but almost never download anything since most releases don't interest me. And usually when there's a release I want, it isn't much of a surprise since I'm waiting for the game to come out in the US already. So when something like Forest of Glass is released (as a huge fan of Gikyokuonsou), it's a rare but nice surprise. This is why I still check the site. Thank you.

I just want to say, much as others already have and do, I really enjoy the music, your hard work, and devotion. I was just curious if there is a forum to make other non-related posts. I was looking around the site, and I didn't seem to see a link right in front of me for one. I was wondering why so, it would seem you would have a great community here. I can understand if not, it is extra work on top of what you have already take'n on, and again it is much appreciated. If there is a place that maybe you, and most of the people here frequent, than please let me know!

Thanks Gameguardian and VolkV for your continuing support.

About the forum, we DID have one, but it was hacked by Turks or something, and since the person that designed this site and the forums went missing, we just took it down. You can usually address concerns within the comments section, just no rudeness or begging.

Devil May Cry...could be a lot better than this...

comment posted by Bluesinner on 27 January

Never any rudeness. Begging, well, maybe a "tip" or "direction"? I've been searching for the OGC series for sometime now, I would love to get 1-5. If I could just even find the most recent one I would prefer that over none. I know it's pretty old and apparently pretty rare to find any of them, but I figure if anyone knew how to get it, it would probably be you. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Yeah, we released one, and have the rest. I just have to get around to the older albums.

Ah, well, no hurry then obviously. Again, appreciate all the great work!

On a side note, is there any specific client for irc that anyone recommends? I have always used mIrc in the past, but I hear that there are other better clients to use. If anyone has any recommendations feel free to let me know. :D

Thank you so much for the OSTs! The arrangement of track 6 from the Chocobo Dungeon OST is so cute. :D It's the Tarutaru Male Theme from the FFXI Character Creator Screen right?

Thanks for the releases, this site is one of a kind.

I'm yet to be blown away by the Devil May Cry 4 soundtrack, I mean it's good but it hasn't blown my hair away. Maybe if I persevere...

And is it me, or does the first 50 or so seconds of Labyrinth of Forgotten Time on the Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon soundtrack sound a LOT like Blue Fields by Nobuo Uematsu, found on the Final Fantasy VIII OST?

In a nutshell, I love you.

...Ok, I hope it's not an arrangement of that song.

Otherwise I would look invariably stupid.

Godai, other than Narratage, which other pieces on Forest of Glass stem from Gikyokuonsou?

comment posted by Don on 28 January

This is all off the top of my head so there could be more.

Narratage from Gikyokuonsou, like you said. The beginning and end of Memory in a Forest is from the Star Ocean & Valkyrie Profile Live Concert version of So Alone, Be Sorrow. Tone Blender, I would say, is influenced by Tone Access from Gikyokuonsou. It is also 5/4 with a similar rhythm in the bass.

Other miscellany: Byzantium from Gikyokuonsou was taken from Baroque in the Future, the album from his band, Déjà Vu.

I've only heard a few songs that Motoi Sakuraba has done as a piano solo, So Alone, Be Sorrow and Star Ocean Forever are my favorites. I want to hear what else Motoi has done on the piano, and hopefully a bit more freeform.

comment posted by Carahan on 29 January

I knew about Byzantium. I didn't realize the So Alone, Be Sorrow influence, although I knew I had heard it somewhere before. I couldn't pinpoint it! Thanks a bunch!

Thank you for the releases and all the previous ones you have done in the past. I thought I would mention for people who might be interested.. The 'Shall Never Surrender' track from the DMC4 Soundtrack is from the preview trailer. I know some people wanted to know, as quite a few liked the music from the trailer.

Superb as always, man, thank you.. I only recently discovered this site and I'm very grateful to it. I listen to video game soundtracks to be inspired for story ideas, and the effect is even better when I have not yet played the game; but then, of course, it's hard to know what soundtracks to get. I appreciate your good judgment. Keep up the good work.

So far I've only listened to the Chocobo's Dungeon Soundtrack, but I was impressed. After being disappointed by the FFIV redux, it's nice to get some quality FF arrangements. There were some good, non-obvious song choices as well.
