Valkyrie Profile -Covenant of the Plume- Arrange Album
Valkyrie Profile -Covenant of the Plume- Original Sound Track

Here is the other albums I mentined (sorry, I fell asleep last night). "Covenent of the Plume" is the "Valkyrie Profile" for the Nintendo DS. Motoi Sakuraba, of course, does the music. There are a lot of reused tracks (albeit slightly arranged) from the original "Valkyrie Profile", but the arrange album DOES cover almost all of the new tracks for this DS release.

Edit: Decided to fix Square Enix's mistake with "ise to the world" to "Rise to the world". If you were on the previous torrent you'll have to reload it.

This one was actually pretty good (not the arranged album; they always suck). I like that these songs last somewhat longer than the Lenneth OST, but they still don't loop fully. The remixes in this one pale in comparison to the originals (Mission to Deep Space again?). Nevertheless, it's way better than what I've come to expect of Sakuraba recently.

Thanks as always.

I like these new arrangements, even though I've been listening to most of these VP songs for years. I'm happy with this release. Thanks guys! Can never get enough Sakuraba.

I see I've got to use a different name this time around, but that's OK. More VP is never a bad thing.

Absolutely stunning release guys! I love the Valkyrie Profile soundtracks and this will hopefully follow the same footsteps as the previous OSTs in the series. Thank you so very much. Thursday evening (in Sweden) saved :)

As demonstrated by the recycled music, this game is such a cash-in and the saddest game I've seen yet. Star Ocean: Blue Sphere had new music.

Lawrence_Bastard: Just curious, which video game composers do you like?

"Lawrence_Bastard: Just curious, which video game composers do you like?"
I know where this is coming from - a few too many negative comments about Mitsuda, Sakuraba, Sakimoto, and Yamaoka (you can guess the first names).
So you wanna know who I like? Fair enough. In no particular order:
Kenji Ito, Masashi Hamauzu, Falcom Sound Team J.D.K., Capcom Sound Team, Konami Kukeiha Club (even if they're history), Michiru Yamane, Michiko Naruke, Junya Nakano, Toshihiko Horiyama, Koichi Sugiyama, Shoji Meguro, Manabu Namiki, Akemi Kimura, Shinji Hosoe, Yoko Shimomura, Yousuke Yasui, Kenichiro Fukui.
The actual list is much larger, but that's enough.

Uh, I don't visit this site too often so I don't know your past posting history. I don't know anything about anyone here actually. I was just asking because I was curious. It's nice to hear opinions I don't have much exposure to.

I like most anyone associated with Wolf Team and most anyone associated with Zuntata, and that's about it. I can't stand most of the people (that I can even recognize) on your list: Ito, Meguro, Shimomura (actually she was fine at Capcom, I dunno what happened). Hosoe and Namiki are ok, but Hosoe's best days are long gone, and Namiki was great at Raizing but then went off the deep end and became intolerable overnight.

The only people I feel have any notable talent are Sakuraba, Ogura, Watanabe. Of course, my opinion on this is rather meaningless. I don't claim to really know what I'm talking about.

Hmm, I think my previous comment was deleted, even though it was extremely respectful and on-topic. Maybe it had the potential to be read sarcastically, but it was 100% earnest.

Well, I'm not going to write it all again, but LB, all I want you to know is that I didn't know anything about you previously, so that "too many negative comments" sentence isn't true at all. I'm old enough not to care about other people's opinions or trying to argue them.

KJ - You should really listen to michiko naruke if you haven't. Also I would suggest Yuki Kajiura even though her stuff is mostly for anime. Still some of the best. Same with Kousuke YAMASHITA and Kotaro Nakagawa. All 3 are fantastic anime composers and i haven't found anything from them i didn't like.

Thanks for the VP albums!
@KJ: You should listen to Masashi Hamauzu, if you search a talented musician.

Ok, I will check some of those composers out. Thanks a lot.

Oh sweet, I know who Naruke is now. I'd put her about on par with Shiono, who I also like. Hey, I said I liked the Telenet/Wolf Team people already right? ;) I'm not a fan of Hamauzu at all but some people I trust like Unlimited SaGa's music. Maybe I was just too distracted by the awfulness of the game itself.

And Noriyuki Iwadare is so great Too!! ^^
The first two Grandia are pure love and her OST is impressive. The main theme is an himn. The same from the Lunar!
Kingdom Hearts and a lot of tracks from many Square RPGs from the SNes era are impressive with Yoko Kanno at the sound studio. As freelance her curriculum is very impressive in the anime world. :D

Tomorrow i hear these albums. Is one saga that i love so much!.

comment posted by Xenogear on 04 December

Dude, Noriyuki Iwadare is a dude, dude, not a woman. And Yoko Kanno had nothing to do with Kingdom Hearts. That's Yoko Shimomura. Easy mistake to make.

I'd be careful about praising Yoko Kanno. I've got nothing against her, but there are plenty of rumors floating about that she's a music thief. Whether it's an established fact or "common knowledge" is best left to the Wikipedia entry.

Yoko Kanno stole segments from Independence Day in her Macross Frontier soundtrack. I can bear the previous Elliot Goldenthal/Christopher Young/others "temp-tracking" but this time I just can't. It's too obvious not to be noticed.

Since then her reputation in me rapidly falls.
