I wondered why I see this entry through my rss reader, but not on the homepage? I'd hate to miss a release if I didn't subscribe to the feed!

So, are you guys trying to fade into obscurity here or something? Why the infrequent updates? Some sites have had a few of these soundtracks out for months already.

Alright, now that I've actually listened to all the songs for this release (and the last one), it's time to say a little more than just "Sweet duhr!"
When I found out Persona 2: IS was getting a PSP port-remake, I got a gamer-boner. Having watched a playthrough of the PS1 version after learning that Hitler was actually a major boss (wtf?), I lamented the fact that it wasn't brought to North America. The original battle music kicked ass, and the story was pretty interesting too. But nothing pissed me off more than the fact that the original soundtrack didn't loop at all. Like Star Ocean 2 and Valkyrie Profile, it's really disappointing.
So when a remake album comes out, I have some concerns. First, did they correct the re-release of the original soundtrack by looping songs this time? ...No. Second, did they make the mistake of NOT looping the remixed songs? Thankfully, no. All the new songs loop and, in some cases, extend beyond the source tracks. Yet the most serious concern of all is this: did they f%#@ it all up again by including totally lame-ass singing in every battle theme like in the port-remake of Persona 1?! Thank God the answer is no. I can't imagine anything worse (short of a Chrono Cross remake) than remaking the Persona game with the best battle music only to piss all over it with pop singing. It's made all the Persona games after 2 unplayable. Why, Atlus?
In comparing the new songs to the originals, I have to say the strongest point about the remixed tracks is that they're longer. I still prefer the original battle theme; the electric guitar dominates a bit too much in the new one. I also think Knights of the Holy Spear was better on the PS1, but the new Boss Battle theme sounds better remixed. Overall it's a great album and it makes me want the North American release sooner, assuming it doesn't get canceled 'cause Hitler is too offensive for our market. Plus if Atlus plans to remake Eternal Punishment in the same way, so much the better (but let's not jump ahead).
Thanks again for sharing.

Ignore what I said about the tags. Something went wrong with my music conversion program.

Got this torrent for the Persona 2 music - and boy, it´s awesome!
I just hope Atlus don´t mess the US release because of final boss. it was lame enough with the PS1 version - at least there´s an online translation patch which I used and worked fine.
Many thanks for the sharing.
