Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Original Soundtrack

-Album Details-

Title: Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Original Soundtrack
Publisher: Square Enix Music
Catalog Number: SQEX-20019
Release Date: March 25th, 2015
Ripped by: dancey

This is an experiment in ripping these new Blu-ray audio discs that have been popular lately, mostly with SQEX.

The general process will BD --> MKV --> Pull WAV out of MKV via Foobar (downsample from 24 to 16 bit) --> ssrc resample from 96000 or 48000 to 44100 --> FLAC (for my personal collection) --> MP3 for this release. Resampling probably isn't necessary but 24bit/44.8kHz mp3s are kind of pointless.

This release should be identical to the old Final Fantasy Type-0 soundtrack we released years ago. There are, however, some (not all) tracks that sound vastly better in "HD" from before.

Note: Yes, I know they're available in mp3 format on the discs in a zip file and no, I'm not just going to use those and retag them. The differences should be minor at best except these should theoretically be smaller since they're VBR instead of 320, not that space really matters these days.

Let me know what you think in the comments, if this works okay I will start doing some of the other Final Fantasy XIV ones I have.

Space does matter. You only think it doesn't until you start running out of it. Happened with my PS3, happened to my old tablet, now happening to my music drive.
Thank you so much for the sharing man. I've been hearing some great tunes which has made me a fan of some of these games and many of these composers.

Yes! I've been hoping you guys would start releasing some of the newer Blu-Ray discs. I hope you guys can get some FFXIV stuff out, that would be amazing.

Please upload "Rieko Mikoshiba - Rem Tokimiya (Arrangement)" in FLAC24/96.
Thanks again!

FLAC just isn't in scope for the content we provide. If you want FLAC 24/96 I suggest purchasing the BD at the links above and grabbing the source yourself or finding it via alternative means.
